This crappy page allows one to view custom subtitles with a youtube clip. I made it because a friend told me
there were many Russian movies freely available on youtube. Since I don't understand it, I wanted to have
subtitles so I could understand at least a bit. Even better would've been to have the original subtitles in
Cyrillic and the translation!
However, no such thing was found, and I set out on my quest to create one of my few javascript projects.
Basically, it allows you to view any youtube, and load as many subtitles (srt format) as you like. Subtitles
be shifted independently through formulas.
To view a clip, use this page as follows:index.php?v=
youtube-video-id&srturl
1=
url1&
2=url2etc
Unfortunately, not all clips can be seen on this site due to restrictions, so there is also the option to view it
on-site. This, however, needs a plugin.
So far, only a Opera user script has been made. This script should be compatible with
Firefox icw greasemonkey.
All source is available under the GPLv2 in a git repository.
Feel free to clone, or send me patches, bugs or suggestions.
Anyone with a grasp of insight into webdesign for this can also suggest things ^^
